Bellevue Police Arrest Man Accused Of Attempted Murder
Bellevue police have caught the man investigators believe severely beat another man outside a mini-mart in February.
BELLEVUE, WA — A 35-year-old man is in custody and accused of attempted murder after a 29-year-old man was severely beaten outside a Bellevue mini-mart in late February, police announced Thursday.
According to the Bellevue Police Department, the attacker was captured on surveillance video punching the victim repeatedly and stomping on his head. The man was hospitalized with severe injuries to his head and face.

Police said the attacker left the crime scene in a black vehicle, then quickly returned to fill up with gas. The victim laid injured on the ground for at least 30 minutes before a customer spotted him and called for help.

In a news release, Bellevue police said detectives gathered enough evidence to arrest the suspect and took him into custody without incident on March 2, accompanied by a SWAT team. According to investigators, the SWAT team approached him in a parking lot, and he ran directly into another group of officers and surrendered peacefully.
He was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder and first and second-degree assault. An initial court appearance was expected Thursday afternoon.
