BELLEVUE, WA — The Bellevue Police Department's negotiation team arrived in the Lake Hills area Tuesday afternoon, responding to a 911 call reporting of a person in crisis who threatened another person inside a home, according to law enforcement. Police said crisis negotiators were working to assist the person, barricaded in the area of 165th Avenue Southwest, between Southeast 9th Street and Southeast 12th Street.

Roads were fully blocked shortly before 12:45 p.m., and residents were asked to shelter in place or leave the area until the situation was resolved. The city also placed a reverse 911 call to notify neighbors of the situation.

Meeghan Black, a police spokesperson, told Patch the other person in the home safely exited, and negotiators were attempting to establish a line of communication with the person in crisis.
