Man Accused Of Crashing Stolen Car Arrested By Bellevue Police

Two police departments and a King County helicopter searched for the man along Bel-Red Road after a crash Tuesday morning.

BELLEVUE, WA — Bellevue police arrested a man Tuesday morning accused of stealing a car, crashing it, and fleeing the scene, according to investigators.

Officers from Bellevue and Redmond began a search in Northeast Bellevue shortly after 9:30 a.m. Police said the ground search was centered around Bel-Road Road and NE 24th St., near Interlake High School, and a King County Sheriff's Office helicopter provided some eyes in the air. The police department confirmed an arrest on social media shortly after 10 a.m.

Details on the initial car theft were not immediately available. A spokesperson for the police department said more details would be shared during a news conference at the scene.
