Bellevue School Board Meets Tuesday Afternoon

The school board will receive an update on remote learning and discuss the latest outlook for resuming some in-person classes.

BELLEVUE, WA — The Bellevue School District's Board of Directors will hold its regular meeting Tuesday afternoon, with a focus on remote learning and the future of in-person learning.

Tuesday's meeting is scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m., beginning with a brief public comment period. Comments can be e-mailed to the board with the subject line "public comment."

According to the meeting agenda, two hours of the meeting will focus on back-to-school progress during remote learning and the plan for the transition to in-person teaching when it is safe to do so.

Last week, the district abandoned plans to welcome elementary students back to classrooms in late October, citing a rising trend in coronavirus cases in King County. Now, the earliest expected timeframe to begin in-person instruction is in January, following winter break.
