Bellevue School District's Meals2Go Program Starts Wednesday

Seven Bellevue schools will serve up free grab-and-go meals for all students ages 18 and younger.

BELLEVUE, WA — The Bellevue School District's student meals program kicks off Wednesday, just in time for the first day of school on Thursday, Sept. 3. Even though kids will be starting the new school year virtually, families can visit seven Bellevue schools to pick up free grab-and-go breakfast and lunch meals for children ages 18 or younger.

According to the district, each meal is provided free of charge, thanks to a federal funding extension through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Families are still encouraged to apply for free or reduced-price meals for the upcoming school year online.

To avoid interfering with instructional hours, the district shifted pickup windows to the afternoon, aiming to provide meals in advance for the next day. Menu options will vary, and each day includes a choice between two options.
