City Seeks Ballot Statements For East Bellevue Community Council
Every four years, Bellevue voters choose whether to keep the council in power. The city is looking for authors to argue both sides.
BELLEVUE, WA — The East Bellevue Community Council is looking for residents to help craft pro and con statements for a ballot measure this November, when ask voters will decide whether to keep the governing body in power.
The council was established in 1969 and is authorized under state law to make certain land use and property decisions in East Bellevue. The same law requires that voters get a chance to reevaluate the council's existence every four years. Ahead of the Nov. 2 general election, the city is seeking a few people to craft "for and against" statements, which will appear in the voters' pamphlet.
Those interested in participating in the process may apply online, by e-mail, or send an application packet to P.O. Box 90012, Bellevue, Wash., 98009. All applications are due no later than the end of business on Friday, April 30. Those with additional questions can reach out to the deputy city clerk's office at 425-452-6806.
