Dick's Drive-Ins Plans To Open In Bellevue By The End Of 2021
Dick's chose the Crossroads Shopping Center as its Eastside outpost, looking to open up shop before the end of the year.
BELLEVUE, WA — Following several months of anticipation, Dick's Drive-Ins announced Thursday that Bellevue will host its Eastside location, slated to open by the end of 2021 at the Crossroads Shopping Center. The beloved Puget Sound burger chain first announced it was looking to expand across Lake Washington in September 2020.
Dick Spady, the restaurant's founder and namesake, was a long-time Bellevue resident.
"It will be wonderful to be back in Bellevue again after almost 50 years," said Jasmine Donovan, Spady's granddaughter and president of Dick's Drive-Ins. "We can't wait to build delicious new memories with our customers, employees and the Eastside community."

Bellevue Mayor Lynne Robinson counted herself among the many fans of Thursday's announcement.
"On behalf of the City of Bellevue, I am pleased to welcome Dick's Drive-In back to the Eastside," Robinson said. "The new restaurant location will be right at home in the thriving Crossroads neighborhood of Bellevue. Like many others in the community, I look forward to enjoying some classic burgers, fries and shakes with family and friends."

While Dick's typically owns its real estate, the restaurant opted to change things up for its eighth restaurant and signed a lease with Crossroads. Dick's said Thursday it was hopeful to open before the end of the year, but it will ultimately depend on the timeline for permits and construction.
