Help Newcastle Family Who Lost Their Home In Two Fires
Two separate fires Wednesday gutted a Newcastle family's home, leaving them with nowhere to go.

NEWCASTLE, WA — A community effort is underway to raise money for a Newcastle family whose house caught fire twice on Wednesday. The Belyamani's home, west of Lake Boren, first caught fire at noon, with white smoke visible for miles. Firefighters extinguished the flames and left that afternoon, only to be called back to an inferno right before midnight.
The family was not home during either fire and were staying at a local hotel when the second one started. Firefighters successfully rescued three dogs, but the family's cat did not make it. The home is a total loss and the Belyamani's three young kids have none of their clothes or belongings. A GoFundMe campaign is aiming to raise $10,000 to cover the family's basic needs as they look to rebuild their lives. Neighbors have already chipped in more than $6,000.
The King County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate both fires. Bellevue Fire said early indications do not point to anything suspicious about either blaze.
