Symetra Santas Help Spread Some Seasonal Cheer
Bellevue-based company's employees support seven local nonprofits through annual 'Adopt-A-Family' holiday gift campaign
‘Elves’ from Symetra’s Bellevue headquarters office recently headed off in four-wheeled ‘sleighs’ to deliver 1,400 wrapped gifts and more than 100 food and gift cards to seven local nonprofit organizations supported by the company’s annual Adopt-A-Family holiday gift campaign: Bellevue Lifespring, Imagine Housing, Kindering, Olive Crest, Ronald McDonald House, Sound Generations and Westside Baby
Symetra employees turned out in force to support the campaign’s kickoff event—the Bite of Symetra bake sale and competition—and then hosted a variety of fundraisers from spaghetti lunches to crafting sessions to raise the funds to help make some holiday wishes come true.
“The creativity and hard work that was put into every aspect of the 2016 Adopt-A-Family campaign was just outstanding,” said Tracy Wort, assistant director of Community Relations. “We had committed to providing warm clothing, food cards and gifts to 293 moms, kids and seniors in need. Thanks to the generous support of our Bellevue employees, we exceeded our goal and were able to make some holiday wishes come true for nearly 350 people!”
