Court documents indicate a Kirkland police investigation found that the man had met the woman that day at the apartment complex they both lived in, and that he later came to her door. When she refused to let him in, the documents say, he shoved the door open and grabbed the woman from behind.

As she resisted, he assaulted her in a sexual manner before she was able to break free, grab a phone and flee to her deck. He left as she called a friend, and then 9-1-1.
