3 Arrested In Deadly Houghton Beach Shooting

Kirkland police arrested two teens and an adult man Wednesday after a 5-month investigation into a deadly shooting at Houghton Beach Park.

KIRKLAND, WA — Kirkland police arrested two teen boys and an adult man on suspicion of murder early Wednesday, five months after the fatal shooting of a teen at Houghton Beach Park, according to city officials.

Last September, investigators said the shooting happened during a "firearms transaction" at the Kirkland park, chosen as a half-way meeting point between Marysville and Renton. At the time, police said there were up to four people of interest in the case, and police released descriptions of two people seen standing by a dock where the shooting happened. The department also released photos of a suspect vehicle, which police recovered shortly after the shooting.

In a news release Wednesday, the Kirkland Police Department said detectives identified the three suspects after continually gathering evidence and new information since the September shooting, leading to three arrest warrants. Police said officers served the warrants Wednesday morning with assistance from the North Sound Metro SWAT Team.
