Anonymous Donor Gives EvergreenHealth UV Sanitizing Machines
The machines can be used to sanitize N95 masks, helping to protect health care workers from the coronavirus.
KIRKLAND, WA — The EvergreenHealth Foundation is thanking an anonymous donor who gifted them two new ultraviolet machines which will help sanitize their facilities as they battle the coronavirus.
The hospital says the donor gifted them two Clorox Healthcare Optimum-UV Enlight Systems to recognize the hard work they've done responding to the pandemic.
EvergreenHealth has been using similar machines since 2018 to sterilize their patient rooms. The new machines will help them sanitize even more space, from public restrooms to waiting rooms.

“In the fight against COVID-19, upholding rigorous infection control standards remains critically essential, and we are incredibly grateful to this donor for their generosity,” said Kevin Jajita, EvergreenHealth’s director of support services.
The hospital says the new donation is particularly valuable because these two new machines can help sterilize N95 masks, protecting health care workers. In the month since they received the donated machines, the hospital has been able to sanitize and reuse 450 masks and disinfected an area roughly the size of 1,140 patient rooms.

“We are grateful to this donor for their dedication to safety and quality, and are honored to receive such a generous contribution,” said Dr. Jeff Tomlin, CEO of EvergreenHealth. “This gift supports our ongoing commitment to providing the safest care to our community each and every day, and it will make a valuable impact for years to come.”
Previously, the same donor gave the hospital a $1 million pledge to support the hospital over 10 years.
