Chance Of Snow In Kirkland On Friday?

A recent cold snap might turn our usual winter rain to snow in some areas of Puget Sound Friday.

KIRKLAND, WA - Are you dreaming of a white ... Friday before Christmas? It's possible snow will fall in some areas around Puget Sound Friday morning. Other areas will just see plain old rain.

In general, south Puget Sound around Pierce County will see little or no snow. Farther north, the chances get better. Snow levels might get down to 500 feet, so it's possible higher areas like Bonney Lake and the Issaquah Highlands will have a better chance at seeing ... a white Friday before Christmas.

Here's what the National Weather Service is predicting for Friday:

"A chance of rain and snow before 10am, then a chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39. Light and variable wind becoming north 8 to 13 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

"A 30 percent chance of snow showers before 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 29. North northeast wind around 11 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible."
