Evergreen Academy Montessori Creates Buzz with Ladybug Release

Students at Evergreen Academy Montessori Preschool in Kirkland have been buzzing with excitement for Earth Day! On April 22, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by releasing ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Each student also brought a plant to add to their classroom garden boxes around their campus.

Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Evergreen Academy Montessori teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
