Evergreen Academy Preschool Students in Kirkland Release Ladybugs
Students celebrated the environment by releasing thousands of beneficial bugs in their schoolyard
Students at Evergreen Academy Preschool in Kirkland have caught the environmental bug! On April 20, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by releasing thousands of ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Prior to the ladybug release, students also planted flowers in gardens around the school. Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Evergreen Academy Preschool teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
