Update: 200 Kirkland Residents Still Without Power After Overnight Outage

Overall, about 3,300 customers in Kirkland's Juanita and Finn Hill area were without power overnight.

More than 3,000 Finn Hill and Juanita area residents were without power overnight, with some reporting to Patch on Facebook that their power returned around 3 a.m., and about 200 more still without power this morning, Sept. 11.

Puget Sound Energy spokesman Ray Lane said the outage was caused by a wiring issue on a main pole in the Juanita/Inglewood area, but the cause of problem is still under investigation.

Meanwhile, Lane said, about 1,800 customers had their power restored at 3 a.m. Wednesday, and about 1,200 more at around 4:30 a.m. Crews are out restoring power to the remaining 200 customers, but an estimate of when that work will be complete is not yet available.

"This was a fairly large outage" for a wiring issue and the exact cause has not yet been determined, Lane said, "but at least we know it wasn't a car hitting a power line."

Residents on NE 138th Place and NE 142nd are still reporting outages.

This is a developing story. Patch is awaiting additional information from Puget Sound Energy, and will update this story with more details about the cause and possible duration of the outage.
