Most services will be operating on a normal schedule on Friday, the day after the Independence Day holiday.

Kirkland City Offices: Closed Thursday, open Friday.

Lake Washington School District: Closed Thursday, open Friday. Schools are out for summer break.

King County government: Closed Thursday.

U.S. Postal Service: Closed Thursday.

King County Library System is closed Thursday.

King County Metro transit: Buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thursday.

Sound Transit: Express Bus, Tacoma Link and Central Link are on a Sunday schedule on Thursday. There is no Sounder Train service Thursday. 

State of Washington: Closed Thursday.

Washington State Ferries: A holiday schedule is in effect on Thursday for the Point Defiance/Tahlequah, Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth, and Seattle/Bainbridge Island routes. The state advises travelers to plan for heavy traffic around the holiday.

Federal government: Closed Thursday.

Banks: Many, if not most, will be closed Thursday. Check your local branch.

Garbage and Recycling: Waste Management service will operate on a normal schedule.
