KIRKLAND, WA — Kirkland Public Works closed Holmes Point Drive Northeast, between the Northeast 138th Place and the Juanita Drive Northeast intersection, after wet weather brought several trees down onto the road Thursday night.

City officials said between six and 10 trees were removed by Puget Sound Energy crews, but the road would remain closed out of abundance of caution until rains subside this weekend. An extended period of very wet weather is expected to continue through Saturday.

According to Public Works, no homes were impacted or in danger, and the nearest house is located about a quarter-mile west of the slide.
