Juanita Market Blossoms Friday

The Juanita Friday Market opens its 2012 season on Friday with a return to the lake side of Juanita Beach Park; the Kirkland Wednesday Market opens May 16.

 

The Juanita Friday Market is coming home when it opens its 2012 season later this week, moving back to the lake side of after two seasons across Juanita Drive during .

“We're excited to be back,” said , business services manager for Kirkland’s Department of Parks and Community Services. “It will be back in the parking lot by the play area. The vendors really like it, they do pretty well there.”

Expect to see jewelry, arts and crafts, a kids' crafts and puppet area and lots of fruits, fresh local produce and flowers when the market’s season blooms on Fridays from 3-7 p.m, from May 11 to Oct. 5.

"It’s been really well received, and we’ve been working real hard," said Metteer.

Note that the Kirkland Wednesday Market on Park Lane, sponsored by the Kirkland Downtown Association, opens for its 2012 next week on May 16.

Speaking of the Juanita Beach modernization, Metteer noted that the park's new amphitheater, surrounded by grass near the Lake Washington shore, will be hosting live music every Friday during the market. “It will be a fun time.”
