Kirkland Classic Car Show Rolls into Town Sunday

The annual four-wheeled renaissance takes over downtown streets July 28. Plan ahead for street closures for the Downtown Association event.


Plan ahead for a fun day full of wheels in Kirkland Sunday, as the Kirkland Classic Car Show transforms downtown.

The annual show, put on by the Kirkland Downtown Association, is one of the biggest, and most anticipated car show events on the Eastside, with about 400 cars and motorcycles expected, along with an appearance by the Seafair Pirates.

Along with the fun, there will be awards, fantastic raffle prizes, and 21 different trophy categories. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 28.

Road closures will occur throughout downtown. Event goers are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool, and plan for their parking in advance.  The City’s boat launch will remain open all weekend, however boaters should expect delays.

The following roads will be closed and detours in place from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2013:

  • Lake Street from Central Way to 2nd Avenue S 
  • Kirkland Avenue from City Dock to Main Street
  • Park Lane from Lake Street to Main Street
  • Lakeshore Plaza Parking Lot
  • Lake Street and Central Way Parking Lot
