Kirkland Police Investigate Early Morning Assault in Bridle Trails Area
A K-9 unit attempted to track a suspect who had something over his head and reportedly assaulted a woman using a gun.

Kirkland Police responded to an incident early Wednesday morning in which a man with something covering his head apparently assaulted a woman at a Bridle Trails area apartment complex.
The Redmond Police Department dispatched its K-9 unit to assist Kirkland Police, and in a brief report said their dog recovered some evidence, calling the incident an "armed assault." But Kirkland Police Department spokesman Sgt. Rob Saloum said the suspect escaped.
“It wasn’t a domestic case at all,” he said. “(The suspect) had something over his head. Several people reported a female screaming, and the suspect was seen.”
Saloum said the incident occurred outside the apartment complex very early Wednesday morning, but details remained sketchy late Wednesday morning. He did not know the exact location of the apartment complex.
“We were on the scene quickly, but the K-9 track was unsuccessful.”
