Kirkland Startup Develops Device to Replace Paper Restaurant Bills
Viableware has raised $7.45 million to help bring its technology to markets around the country, GeekWire reports.

A new device from a Kirkland-based startup could make complex restaurant bill-splitting a thing of the past.
As GeekWire reports, Viableware has already begun testing the electronic bill reader at several restaurants in the Seattle area, including P.F. Chang's and Ethan Stowell Restaurants. The company has raised about $7.45 million to date and plans to expand its market throughout the country.
The device enables restaurant patrons to review, split and pay bills from their seat. Customers can elect to receive a paper receipt or have an electronic receipt sent to their email account.
