Kirkland Woman Expected to Live After Shooting Herself at Snoqualmie Falls

Snoqualmie Police found the woman in her car in the Salish Lodge parking lot Monday morning with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.

 

A 46-year-old Kirkland woman who police say shot herself in the chest Monday morning while sitting in her vehicle in a parking lot of Salish Lodge at Snoqualmie Falls is expected to survive.

City of Snoqualmie police were called at about 7 a.m. Monday and found the woman conscious, but suffering from a from a self-inflicted pistol shot wound.

She was taken to Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, and Snoqualmie Police Department Capt. Nick Almquist said Tuesday morning that he had since heard the wound was not life-threatening.

The woman had apparently been depressed about personal issues.

“There was some evidence left behind letting us know about things, stressors involving family and friends,” Almquist said.
