Lake Washington Plans High School Graduations At T-Mobile Park

The district has six high school graduations planned at the Seattle stadium in early June, under Washington's Phase 3 reopening guidelines.

KIRKLAND, WA — The Lake Washington School District has secured Seattle's T-Mobile Park to host graduation ceremonies for six Eastside high schools in early June. Washington's second-largest school district informed families of the plans Friday, citing new state guidelines that allow up to 9,000 guests at large venues.

Under Washington's third reopening phase, spectator events at large venues with permanent outdoor seating are allowed at 25 percent capacity, with a maximum of 9,000 people. For smaller indoor and outdoor venues, occupancy is capped at 50 percent, with a maximum of 400 people.

Here are the schools with graduations planned at T-Mobile Park on June 9 or June 10:

For families who are not comfortable with attending the in-person celebrations, the district is also planning to offer live streams of each event. Specifics for both days at T-Mobile Park are still in the works, and the district promised families more graduation details before spring break begins in early April.

Plans are also underway for on-campus graduations at smaller choice schools, and parents can expect to hear updates from their principals.
