Lake Washington School District Secondary Family Reminder

Dear LWSD Secondary Families:

"As a reminder, all secondary families (families with students in grades 6-12) need to complete the Learning Model Survey in Skyward Family Access by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16.

We appreciate the challenge of making a decision of this nature, and have created a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page on our website to help share the details that we have so far around our in-person hybrid model. Here are some additional details:

Governor Inslee’s proclamation on Friday indicates that all middle and high schools in Washington state will offer in-person learning by April 19. The governor will sign the proclamation this week, clarifying the expectations around a hybrid learning model that will have at least two days (or partial days) of in-person classes per week with at least 30% of instructional time in-person.

School districts are expected to continue to comply with all health and safety guidelines, which will likely require that we will offer a hybrid in-person model due to physical distancing requirements.

In order for us to meet this timeline, we will need to know which middle and high school students are planning to select an in-person hybrid learning model and which students will select to stay in a fully remote learning model.

Given the parameters outlined by the governor, we will make every effort to keep students and teachers aligned in their current classes, but some schedule changes may need to occur.

Please complete the learning model selection in Skyward Family Access by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16.

Here are instructions for completing the survey:

1. Go to the Lake Washington School District website (www.lwsd.org).
2. On the upper left menu, select “Students & Families.”
3. Select “Skyward Student Access/Family Access.”
4. Login to Skyward Family Access. If you don’t know your Login or Password, select the “Forgot your Login/Password?” link.
5. You should see a message informing you about the new form that is available. You can access the form directly from the message or you can select “Online Forms.”
6. Click on the link that says “Fill out Online Form for…”
7. Review the information. Select “Next.”
8. Complete the survey.
9. Select “Complete Step 1 and move to Step 2” from the bottom of the page.
10. Select “Submit Survey” button.
11. You are able to go back and make changes by selecting “Mark as not completed and make changes.”

Note: You must be signed in to Family Access, not Student Access, in order to complete your learning model selection.

Families will be able to adjust their selection up until the March 16 deadline at 11:59 p.m. If you would like to adjust your responses, click “Mark as not completed and make changes.”
