Potala Village Developer Submits Permit Application

While awaiting an appeals court ruling on the proposed Potala Village development, Dargey Enterprises has submitted a permit application to the city of Kirkland.

The developer of the proposed Potala Village submitted a building permit application to the city of Kirkland.

The permit application is for "Aqua Mixed Use," and includes 97 residential units and 7,985 square feet of commercial space (Permit No. BSF13-03290). The city said the application has not yet been determined to be complete for processing of the permit.

The original project was envisioned as 6,200 square feet of ground floor commercial space and 143 residential units above, with underground parking.

The proposed development has been a source of contention in the city, with public outcry over the project spurring a building moratorium. Last week, the city appealed a Superior Court decision that paved the way for the project to move forward.
