Readers’ Choice Poll: Where’s the Best Place for Sporting Goods in Kirkland?
Please vote in our poll and let us know in the comments!

Yes, we love the outdoors here in Kirkland. We're blessed with great parks and marvelous trails, we boast a great big lake in our backyard with trout, perch and bass, and just east of us is one of America's greatest mountain ranges for hiking, skiing and snowboarding. We're also on the popular cycling route circling Lake Washington and in Big Finn Hill Park enjoy appropriately twisting-winding-bumpy "single-track" for mountain biking.
But now let me vent here first: Why is REI in Redmond, not Kirkland? At least it's just over the hill. And why did the Joe's store in Totem Lake live such a short Kirkland life (R.I.P/2009)? Outdoors nuts such as I were living fat as a mossback razor clam back then. If didn't have my preferred red Gamakatsu fish hooks, four blocks away Joe's surely would and beyond that bit more was another option, .

At least we still have the Large Five and Freddies'. We also have two great options for runners and riders: in Juanita Village and downtown. Don't forget options for surf riders and paddlers in up on Rose Hill. Finally, if your kids were ever in Little League, you probably got some gear at in the Totem Lake area.

Because our poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be based on a point system in which poll results and Patch Place ratings are weighted equally. In the event of a tie, the Patch editor will determine the winner based on comments and reviews on Patch Places. For full contest details, see the attached PDF with the rules. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.
