College Gameday Oct. 8: No. 11 Wisconsin Badgers vs. This Pizza
No. 11 Wisconsin (4-1) gets a week off to lick its wounds after falling to No. 4 Michigan Saturday in a tough contest in Ann Arbor.

WISCONSIN -- The Wisconsin Badgers are not taking the field of battle against a pizza.
No. 11 Wisconsin (4-1) gets a week off to lick its wounds after falling to No. 4 Michigan Saturday. The schedule doesn’t get any easier though, as the Badgers return to action Oct. 15 with a home game against No. 2 Ohio State.
Even with Saturday’s defeat, Wisconsin has enjoyed a tremendous start to the year, with wins over LSU and Michigan State. The loss at Michigan was also commendable because the Badgers went toe-to-toe with a powerhouse and didn’t blink. Going forward, Wisconsin has a multitude of reasons to hold its head high.

One such reason is the defensive unit. The Badgers’ defense has been impressive, allowing only 12.2 points per game with no team having scored more than 17 points against it (lightly regarded Georgia State, of all teams, reached 17 points against Wisconsin).
That defense will be severely tested against a Buckeyes offense that is averaging 57 points per game in its four contests this year. For Wisconsin to pull off the upset, its defense will need to match the intensity it displayed against Michigan, but the offense will have to produce far more than the 7 points it scored against the Wolverines.
