Dangerous Winds Monday Into Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for southeast Wisconsin, which will blow in cold weather.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Monday that remains in effect from 3 p.m. this afternoon to 6 a.m. Tuesday. The NWS says winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles and advises all motorists to use extra caution this afternoon.

The NWS says that strong winds will increase to dangerous levels by mid-afternoon, and continue through tonight. When they do, south winds will steadily increase to between 20 and 30 miles per hour with gusts to around 45 miles per hour by mid-to-late-afternoon.

The NWS is reporting that winds will diminish for a time Monday evening and shift to the west in the wake of a cold front. The west winds will increase to between 20 and 35 miles per hour with gusts to 45 miles per hour overnight.
