Deadline Approaching To Join Oak Creek's Fourth Of July Parade

The parade theme this year is "Party like it's 1776." Those interested in joining should submit a request by Friday.

OAK CREEK, WI — The annual Fourth of July parade is coming back this year and those looking to participate in it must apply by Friday, according to Oak Creek's website.

This year's parade has a theme to draw inspiration from- Party Like It's 1776. At the end of the parade, keeping with tradition, ice cream will be handed out. Those looking to participate in the parade must submit a request form by Friday.

Late parade applications are subject to an extra $75 fee, according to the form. The form should be filled out and mailed to the City of Oak Creek.

Parade participants will meet near Edgewood Elementary School. Check-in will be at the corner of Burrell Street and Groveland Drive.

Those looking to plan ahead for a great parade viewing can stake out a spot along the parade route.

The parade will start at 9 a.m. near Edgewood Elementary School. It will travel east down Groveland Drive, take a right and travel south down Shepard Avenue, then take another right to head west down Puetz Road, a left to head south down Mahew Drive, then another left to head east down Centennial Drive and finally a right to head south down Shepard Avenue, ending at American Legion Post 434, according to the parade map.

Fireworks will also be in Oak Creek this year. The display will occur at dusk in Lake Vista Park on July 4, but more details are to come.
