Drone Light Show And More: Oak Creek National Night Out Planned

The Oak Creek Police Department announced more details for its 25th National Night Out event. The event is to form community partnerships.

OAK CREEK, WI — The Oak Creek Police Department announced more details for its 25th National Night Out event in August. The festival is meant to forge new community partnerships, according to a Facebook post from the Oak Creek Police Department.

A drone light show, exhibits, performances, soft drinks and more will all be a part of the festivities and entertainment at this year's National Night Out in Oak Creek, the department said in its post.

Oak Creek's first National Night Out was back in 1996, a post from the department said. The event is part of a nationwide campaign that seeks to prevent crime and generate support for crime prevention programs, the department said.

"While some of the faces and the venue have changed, the principles that brought us together have stayed the same," the department said in its Facebook post.

The National Night Out also seeks to strengthen overall neighborhood spirit and police relations with the community, the department said.

This year the National Night Out is back in full swing on August 3, the Oak Creek Police Department wrote in a Facebook post. The tradition will be held at the American Legion Grounds from 6-9 p.m. at 9327 South Shepard Ave in Oak Creek.

The department said that it is still looking for local business sponsors. Exhibition tables are also available for the event. Those interested should call 414-766-7624 or email pdcommunityresource@oakcreekwi.org.
