Everbrite Shutting Down South Milwaukee Plant; 116 Affected
Company officials say they're shutting down the Everbrite South Milwaukee plant. Some employees will be transferred, many laid off.

SOUTH MILWAUKEE, WI — Everbrite, a company that makes signs and visual displays, will be laying off workers in South Milwaukee after they filed notice with the state that they're shutting down the plant located at 314 Marion Ave.
According to a Mass Layoff Notice published Wednesday by the state Department of Workforce Development, Everbrite will close the plant on May 5. Layoffs will start on April 27, company officials said.
“Up to 116 employees in South Milwaukee will be impacted. A subset of that group will be retained and will transfer to other Everbrite locations," company president Brian Kuhnau said in a statement published in the Milwaukee Biz Times on Wednesday afternoon. "Others will be encouraged to apply for open positions at other Everbrite locations,” Kuhnau said. “We do not yet have plans for the future of the site.”
