Illegal Fireworks Fine In Oak Creek Is $313

There are only three types of fireworks that are legal under Oak Creek ordinances.

OAK CREEK, WI — Snakes, sparklers and paper caps are the only fireworks that are allowed during this year's Fourth of July in Oak Creek, city officials said Monday. Selling or lighting off any other kinds of fireworks can net a person a $313 fine if caught, police said.

"While the spirit of personal fireworks shows may be to have fun and entertain family and friends, we ask that you do not participate in such activities for the safety of all," Oak Creek officials said Monday.

The City of Oak Creek's government offices, including City Hall, Library, DPW and Recycling Yard will be closed on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4 for the Fourth of July holiday.

Emergency services will continue.

The Oak Creek Farmers Market will take place on Saturday, July 4 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Drexel Town Square.
