Legion Celebrates Fall With First Octoberfest

The Legion has a lot of activities — hayrides, pumpkin painting and make-your-own scarecrow among them — for its first-ever Octoberfest.

American Legion Post 434 will get in the fall spirit Saturday with its first-ever Octoberfest.

The Legion has numerous activities lined up for the event, which goes from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the Legion grounds, 9327 S. Shepard Ave.

Octoberfest will feature hayrides, pumpkin painting, make-your-own scarecrow, the Oak Creek Police Department canine unit, an Oak Creek fire truck, live music, a hot rod expo, food and beer.

Attendees can also enter contests for best apple pie, jam, pickles and dilly beans.

Live music includes Andrea and the Mods from 2 to 6 p.m. outside; Boys Night Out from 4 to 8 p.m. inside; and Jackie Brown and the Boys from 7 to 11 p.m. outside.
