No LionsFest In Oak Creek In 2020

OAK CREEK, WI — For the first time since 1959, there will not be a LionsFest in Oak Creek.

Citing the increasing COVID-19 trends across Wisconsin, organizers said they decided to pull the plug on this year's festival after holding out as long as they could.

"We waited until the 11th hour to meet, discuss and analyze the current status of the virus situation hoping for an improvement or a positive trend. At the end of the day, we realized that under current circumstances, a safe festival for our members, our hundreds of volunteers and especially our patrons could not possibly occur," organizers said. "Over the years, we have raised well over 2.5 million dollars that was donated back into hundreds of charitable causes. So this is obviously heartbreaking for us. The needs of the many always outweigh the needs of the few."

Organizers said they are looking forward to having LionsFest in 2021.
