Oak Creek Carjacking, Assault Suspects Arrested, Police Say

According to police, the incidents happened between 10:30 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. Monday in the Woodman's area and spread to nearby businesses.

OAK CREEK, WI — Authorities say two of the three suspects involved in multiple assault cases and attempted carjackings in Oak Creek have been arrested.

According to an update from the Oak Creek police department, Milwaukee police located the stolen Jeep. Two of the three people wanted in Oak Creek's incidents have been arrested and were taken in for questioning Wednesday, officials in Oak Creek said.

Police in Oak Creek say they are continuing to investigate three incidents Monday in which a group of three men assaulted elderly people.

According to police, the incidents happened between 10:30 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. Monday in the Woodman's area and spread to some nearby businesses.

Oak Creek police said the suspects initially approached people to ask for money. "It appears that these suspects are targeting vehicles owned by our most vulnerable, elderly population," police said Tuesday.

Police said the incidents began at Woodman's gas station. A man was fueling his vehicle when he was approached by two men who assaulted him and tried to steal his vehicle. Police said the man fought back, and managed to repel the two suspects, who then ran from the gas station.

Oak Creek police say they believe the same group of suspects then approached another potential victim at a nearby apartment complex. Police said the suspects entered a vehicle, but left without taking it.

Oak Creek police said the same suspects then assaulted an elderly woman in the parking lot at Kohl's Department Store. Police said they stole her vehicle and cell phone.

Oak Creek police said they chased two vehicles that matched the description of the stolen vehicle and the vehicle that the suspects were originally traveling in. Police said the chase was abandoned due to the dangerous speeds and driving of both stolen vehicles.

According to police, they are searching for the following vehicle after the Jeep was recovered:

  • A 2014 red Kia Forte sedan with a license plate of 957-DRC

Police said there were three suspects, and two were arrested. Officials provided this description:

  • A Black man in his 20s, standing 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6 with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, light blue jeans and white shoes.
  • A Black man in his 20s standing 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 with a thin build. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark shoes.
  • A Black man standing 6 feet tall to 6-foot-1, with dark clothing and a baseball cap.
