Oak Creek-Franklin School Board Calls Meeting for Public Comment

Last week via a letter to the school district, some parents blamed a dysfunctional Board ​for their perceived failure of virtual learning

OAK CREEK, WI— The Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District Board of Education announced a special Board meeting that is set for Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the District Office, located at 7630 S 10th Street in Oak Creek.

The agenda shows the board will begin with any Potential Updates on the Phased Reopening for the 2020/2021 School Year.

What is most likely going to draw the crowd is the chance to address the Board.

The Board will recess the formal portion of the meeting to "entertain comments or questions" on the plans discussed.

Last week via a letter to the school district, some parents blamed a dysfunctional Board for their perceived failure of virtual learning.

"This is not due to lack of effort of teachers. This is because learning at home is not working," the letter stated.

The Superintendent of the school system told Patch last week the Board has been discussing a number of the issues highlighted in the letter received Wednesday.

Remote viewing and public comment will also be held at the Ninth Grade Center Cafeteria, located at 8640 S Howell Ave in Oak Creek.

The Public Comment Form must be completed to leave a formal public comment either verbally or in writing.
