OAK CREEK, WI — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Sandra R. Burrows who nominated Lisa Soik of Oak Creek. Lisa worked hard to support her son, and put in the extra time to help her sister, who battled metastatic cancer.

Reason for recognition: Lisa worked full time often more than one job, to co-support her Son while attending school to fulfill her dream of becoming Pediatric RN. She often adjusted her hours to assist her Sister, battling Metastatic Cancer.

One thing to know: She is Sincere, a blessing to all who have the privilege to be cared for by her.
