Oak Creek Hero: Meet Rachel Libby, A Person Who Persevered

OAK CREEK, WI — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Sandra R. Burrows who nominated Rachel Libby, who worked in Oak Creek in pediatrics. Burrows says her daughter Rachel persevered through life's challenges, including a bout with breast cancer — only to have it return.

Reason for recognition: This "Hero" worked as Nursing Assistant full time at Oak Creek Pediatrics for about 15 years while raising three children alongside her husband an attending School to become a RN. She was a breast cancer survivor only to have it return.
