Oak Creek Library To Begin Hosting Authors

Children's author Tim Federle will be the first in what the library hopes is a series of authors to visit Oak Creek.

The Oak Creek Public Library will host a children's author next month in what it hopes is the beginning of many author visits.

Tim Federle will be at the Oak Creek Community Center April 9 at a time to be determined. Federle, a Broadway dancer, is the author of Better Nate Than Ever, in which a small-town teenager concocts a plan to run away to New York and crash an audition for E.T.: The Musical.

The library hopes to host more of these types of events after it moves into a new facility next year but is trying to get an early start now, librarian Sarah Corso said.

The library isn't able to host many large events with its cramped space, but often works with the community center, just across the parking lot.

The April 9 event is co-sponsored by the Boswell Book Company, which regularly works with libraries but is working with Oak Creek for the first time, Corso said.
