Oak Creek Miller Park Graduation Ceremony Nixed; New Plans
The new graduation event will premiere and take place on the district's scheduled graduation day, July 18.

OAK CREEK, WI — The Milwaukee Brewers return to Miller Park for an abbreviated 2020 season, and ongoing COVID-19 guidelines in Milwaukee County were two of the main reasons behind Oak Creek High School's new plans for 2020 graduation.
Earlier this year, Oak Creek High School planned to host the school's 2020 Commencement ceremony at the park. Now, the district's plans have changed to an in-person, drive-up graduation ceremony, with a virtual feature for our graduates and families.
"Staying within health and safety guidelines, given the size of our event, will be challenging, but we are committed to making this a special experience for our students and families," district officials said. "We have been working on the structure for how this will occur so that families and graduates can individually be on campus."

The new graduation event will premiere and take place on the district's scheduled graduation day, July 18. Students, in their regalia, will receive their diplomas and make their way across a stage. Following diploma pick-up on July 18, the virtual ceremony will be aired for all families to watch.
"We are very proud of our graduates, believe they deserve this special moment--for them and their families — and wished so much for our day at Miller Park. We couldn’t be more disappointed but will do everything we can to make July 18 special and memorable," district officials said.
