Oak Creek Spring Pickup Coming Up
Here is the full list of what trash collectors will pick up (and what they won't pick up) and when they're making the rounds.

OAK CREEK, WI — Spring cleanup time is here, and for Oak Creek residents who have city-provided garbage and recycling pickup, the Department of Public Works will conduct their annual spring pickup beginning on Friday, May 15.
City officials say there's no charge for the pickup, but there is a charge for freon appliances and televisions. Oak Creek officials said different trucks pick up different types of items, and to not be alarmed if all of the items people leave out are not picked up at once.
Items that will be picked up:

• Garden Clippings (excluding leaves, grass and branches)
• Furniture
• Wood
• Appliances [Doors need to be removed from refrigerators & freezers] (Freon appliances $15/each)
• Construction Materials [not resulting from a contractor]
• Metal
• Mattresses
• Televisions ($20/each)
• Carpeting/Rugs/ Padding [rolls no greater than 4 feet in width])
Items that will not be picked up:

• Batteries
• Hazardous Materials
• Grass Clippings
• Leaves
• Concrete
• Branches
• Fluorescent Lights
• Concrete/Stone
Residents are required to have their items at the curb or roadside by 6:45 a.m. on Friday, May 15 in order to be guaranteed a pickup. Once they pass through your neighborhood, we will not return for additional no-charge pickups until the fall cleanup in November, Oak Creek officials said.
