Oak Creek Teacher, Coach Accused Of Sexual Assault On Student: Reports
The district is "shocked and sickened." The teacher has been suspended and likely will be fired.

OAK CREEK, WI– A teacher at Oak Creek High School has been charged with sexual assault on a child after an alleged incident between him and a student, according to a media report. Teacher Michael Jossie also has been suspended from the school without pay, according to the school district.
In a statement posted to the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District, Superintendent Tim Culver said the district is "shocked and sickened" that Jossie has been charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child.
"We are shocked because the misconduct with which Mr. Jossie has been charged is inconsistent with his reputation in our District," Culver wrote. "We are sick at heart because we have committed our lives and careers to caring for and helping children and to learn that a child has been harmed in such a reprehensible way is unthinkable and intolerable."

Culver said the district began investigating the report on Monday, parallel to an investigation by police. The district will take "swift and appropriate action" as soon as the investigation is complete, Culver said. It is likely, the district's administration will recommend he be fired.
Jossie is also the head coach of the Oak Creek Knights basketball team. The school athletics website indicates he is a special education teacher.

The girl, 15, told police she had developed a close relationship with Jossie over the past year, according to a WISN report that cites a criminal complaint. The girl said the two had sex five times, including in classroom, reported the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
The media reports indicate that a school employee witnessed Jossie and the student engaged inappropriate contact, and reported it to the district's administration.
