Oak Creek Trick-Or-Treat To Be Determined

City officials told Oak Creek Patch they are waiting for guidelines from state health officials before moving forward with trick-or-treat.

OAK CREEK, WI — A majority of Wisconsin's fall colors have yet to emerge, yet people's attentions are already turning to the next holiday — Halloween.

Given the uncertainty around social gathering amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this year's trick-or-treat will undoubtedly look different from years' past.

According to Oak Creek officials, the city's Celebrations Committee is waiting to hear back from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services for safety guidelines and recommendations before they commit to a potential citywide trick-or-treat plan for this year.

Once local officials hear back from the DHS, they'll develop a plan that works for Oak Creek, they said.

Some places like Haunted Wisconsin have already listed Oak Creek's 2020 trick-or-treat time, but that time was set up in a pre-COVID-19 environment, and may change.

Once Oak Creek officials have the information they need, they will post their plan on the Oak Creek website and on social media channels.
