Ragnar Relay Race Looking To Run Through Oak Creek In 2019

The Ragnar Great Midwest 2019 Run/Walk is asking city officials for approval to traverse Oak Creek's beautiful terrain in 2019. Here's when:

OAK CREEK, WI -- Oak Creek may see a whole bunch of dedicated long-distance runners pass through city limits this may, according to officials.

According to City of Oak Creek License Committee documents, the Ragnar Great Midwest 2019 Run/Walk is asking city officials for approval to hold their event in Oak Creek over May 17-18.

The Reebok Ragnar Great Midwest relay race will be held May 17-18, and will cut a path from Chicago, IL, to Madison WI.

Ragnar is a series of long-distance running relay races. It's billed as the largest relay series in the U.S. with 19 relays in different parts of the U.S. Each race is about 200 miles long with races lasting two days and one night.

Your team will kick off the journey just outside of Chicago and head north, past epic views of Lake Michigan. You’ll run through the countryside on the Glacial Drumlin Trail and over rolling hills with a billion stars lighting your way.

"In the cool, spring air you’ll watch the sun come up as you zoom past picturesque red barns, happy cows, and quintessential Midwest scenery," according to the Ragnar official website. "Your whole team finishes together, tired and triumphant at the Ragnar finisher's party in the city of Madison. Your team medals, bragging rights, and endless memories await!"
