Shool District To Review Teacher Turnover Rates

This year the District had the highest number of retirements and lowest number of resignations since 2012-2013.

OAK CREEK,WI— This year the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District had the highest number of retirements and lowest number of resignations since 2012-2013, when the district started keeping records of turnover.

A total of 15 teachers retired this year, and 14 resigned.

The School Board had requested an update on teacher retention and turnover, and they will discuss the findings next week.

“Overall the District’s turnover statistics are very good,” staffed noted in records submitted to the school board to be reviewed. “With both the Board of Education’s support for our retention strategies and the teacher compensation model over the last seven years, the District has retained almost all of the teachers we have tried to retain and were within our control to retain.”

A similar trend was noted in the districts that participated in the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District turnover survey of other local school districts.
