Suspicious Package Found Near Railroad Tracks

Oak Creek police are investigating a suspicious package — later determined to contain active and spent fireworks — found Tuesday night alongside railroad tracks. 

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office bomb squad was called to the scene about 10:30 p.m., according to a news release. 

The package of fireworks was secured and will be destroyed at a later date, the Sheriff's Office said. 

Officials said residents who see a suspicious package should not touch it and report it to police.
