Swim Team's Dream Season Continues at Sectionals

Knights take third in sectionals; send five to state.

A season to remember for the Oak Creek Knights swim and dive team rolls on.

A year after finishing ninth out of 11 teams at sectionals, the Knights took third on Saturday and sent five swimmers to state.

Tony Rodriguez compiled 330 points during the 11-dive event, good enough to become the first diver in many years to represent Oak Creek at state.

Meanwhile, Sam Vissers' great season continued as he won the 200 freestyle (1:49.58) and the 100 freestyle (49.88). Both times also broke his school records.

Vissers later teamed up with Jake Wergin, Evan Koch and Zack Kaestner to swim the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:32.09, which also qualified them for state and re-broke their own school record.
