Tesla Supercharger Coming to Drexel Town Square in Oak Creek

The Oak Creek Plan Commission has approved plans to bring Tesla Supercharger electric vehicle charging stations to Drexel Town Square.

Earlier this month, the Oak Creek Plan Commission approved plans to install Tesla Supercharger electric vehicle charging stations in the Meijer parking lot in Drexel Town Sqaure. The plans call for 10 Supercharger stalls to be created in the northeast corner of the parking lot near Water Street Brewery.

Tesla Superchargers allow Tesla electric cars and SUVs to charge at a rate significantly higher than what could be achieved with standard home power outlets. Telsa has been blanketing the globe with these Supercharger stations to make cross-country travel possible. Some Tesla vehicles can go over 300 miles without needing a charge.

Currently, the closest Supercharger station is at the Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets Mall in Kenosha. Other Wisconsin Supercharger locations are in Madison, Sheboygan, Mauston, Eau Claire, Wausau and Onalaska with a Green Bay location opening shortly. Additional Wisconsin locations are planned for later this year.

Having a Tesla Supercharger station within walking distance means that the residents of the many apartments located in Drexel Town Square can now make owning a Tesla feasible without having to worry about where to charge it. In many cases, a quick charge at the Supercharger once per week would provide enough range for daily commutes and other excursions.

Tesla currently charges for Supercharger use if customers go over a certain usage threshold each year. However for a limited time, prospective Tesla buyers can use this special link to not only save an additional $1,000 off the price of a Tesla Model S sedan or Model X SUV, but also receive completely free unlimited use of the Tesla Superchargers, including the one at Drexel Town Square in Oak Creek, for the life of their vehicle.
