Tree-Ripe Fruit Company Gets Approval For Summer Sales

Oak Creek officials signed off on three dates for the Tree-Ripe Fruit Company's summer sales, with the first one coming in June.

OAK CREEK, WI — The Tree-Ripe Fruit Company, sellers of Georgia peaches, Georgia pecans and Michigan blueberries received city approval for their latest sale, which will come in late June.

According to Oak Creek Plan Commission documents, the commission approved a temporary use permit for the company to set up a temporary stand in the Farm and Fleet parking lot for up to three dates this summer. The Farm and Fleet is located at 501. W. Rawson Ave.

Meeting documents show the first sale date as Saturday, June 20. The other two dates, which are planned for either July or August, have yet to be determined.

Tree-Ripe Fruit Company officials set up the following safety precautions given the coronavirus pandemic:

  • Only necessary workers will be there, as they expect this to be 3-4 workers, with only 1-2 designated workers interacting with customers.
  • Social distancing guidelines include:maintaining a distance of six feet between people, washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds as frequently as possible or using hand sanitizer, covering coughs or sneezes, regularly cleaning high-touch surfaces, not shaking hands, and following all other public health recommendations issued by the Wisconsin DHS and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.
  • Expanded pick-up time from 90 minutes to two hours to help spread out the number of people who show up for pickup. Any high-risk customers can be helped by drive-up, with orders being placed in their vehicle.
  • No sample products will be offered at any location. All workers will use any necessary or recommended PPE, including masks and/or gloves.
